El 28 de enero, se realizo el Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards. Los MCs de la noche fueron Leeteuk de Super Junior y Hyeri de Girl's Day.
Los ganadores tuvieron que lanzar un álbum entre enero-diciembre 31, del 2014. El primer premio de la noche fue el "Premio World Rookie", que fue a BTS para Dark & Wild, que vendió más de 100.000 copias. El segundo premio fue el "Hot Trend Award" que fue dado a ExID debido a su popularidad con "Up & Down". En tercer lugar, Block B también recibió el "Hot Trend Award" por "Jackpot" y "HER"
La primera actuación de la noche fue realizada por BTS, que fue seguido por ExID. Luego, se presentaron los ganadores de cada mes.
SoYou y Junggigo luego subieron al escenario para realizar una versión de piano de su canción mega-hit "Some." Girl's Day realizo su canción hit, "Something".
El siguiente premio fue "Music Distinguished award", que fue a Universal Music. El "New Media Platform Award" fue a Kakao Music. El premio de "Contribution Award" de este año fue a Shin Hae Chul.
Park Boram luego subió al escenario para interpretar "Beautiful" y SISTAR siguió con su tema hit de verano, "I Swear".
El "Performer Award" fue a Jang Hyuk y Kang Tae Woo, mientras que el "Style Award" fue al equipo de la danza 'DQ', Park Seo Hyun, y Choi Ji Huang.
Luego, San E & Raina subieron al escenario, con la actuación de su exitosa canción, "A Midsummer Night's Dream". El "K-POP World Hallyu Star Award" fue a KARA y Im Chang Jung. EXO se llevó a casa el "Fan Vote Popularity Award". Para finalizar la primera mitad del show, Apink realizó su último hit, "LUV", y el Block B interpretó "Nice Day" y "HER".
Para empezar la Parte 2, KARA realizó su último tema, "MaMMaMia." El "Rookie of the Year" fue tanto para Winner como para MAMAMOO. Im Chang Jung luego subió al escenario para interpretar "A Glass of soju." El siguiente fue el "Hot Performance Award" que fue a AOA, mientras que "Long Running Music Award" fue a SoYou y Junggigo.
MAMAMOO realizó su canción hit, "Piano Man", y el Winner se subió al escenario para cantar "Empty" y "Don't Flirt." El "Weibo K-POP Star Award" fue a Super Junior. TVXQ fue galardonado con el premio al "1er Quarter Best Selling Record" y EXO recibió el premio "2nd Quarter Best Selling Record".
AOA luego subió al escenario para interpretar "Miniskirt" y "Like A Cat." Epik High siguió con "Encore" y "Born Hater". El "Best Lyric Writer Award" fue a Min Yeon Jae y el "Composer of the Year Award "fue a Kim Do Hoon. El "Producer of The Year Award" fue a Kim Si Dae.
EXO a continuación, subió al escenario para interpretar "Moonlight" y "Overdose". Super Junior recibió el premio "3er Quarter Best Selling Record" y el premio "4th Quarter Best Selling Record". Super Junior, luego cerró el show con "This Is Love" y "Mamacita".
